Spring is in the air and our new collections took center stage during Milan Design Week, as we introduced three new collections designed by some of the most innovative creators in the industry: Plume by Patrick Norguet, Boheme by Sebastian Herkner, and Orchid by Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba. Set against a collaborative display with local floral designers, Potafiori, at our flagship Milanese showroom, the latest introductions dazzled guests as we hosted a celebratory cocktail event to kick off Design Week, honoring the design visionaries, as well as Paola Navone and her latest creations for her strikingly bold Chopstix collection.

We shined the spotlight on French designer Patrick Norguet and his evocative, yet feminine, Plume collection to close out the week. An intimate toast was held for design industry notables at the showroom, followed by a memorable dinner at nearby Michelin Star restaurant, Ristorante Sadler.

Patrick Norguet's Plume collection is a lesson in the timelessness of classic design. Its looped openwork back is a nod to the iconic peacock chair while the simpler low-back lounge version, which comes with cushions, recalls the modern silhouettes of the 70s era. Norguet also released a sneak peek of another collection launching at a later date called Monstera, which is inspired by the lustrous leaves of its namesake plant.

Not to be outdone, German designer Sebastian Herkner, launched his Boheme collection, which takes its cues from the colors and textures of the vast open American landscape. The handwoven back that envelopes the aluminum frame imitates the relaxed movement of ribbon as it ripples back and forth; the dual-colored rope being the first of its kind for JANUS et Cie. The detailed construction continues to the seating where the mesh base allows water to filter through versus pooling on the furniture.

To celebrate these illustrious introductions, we tasked local floral designers Potafiori to partner with us once again to create a sensory experience evocative of the new designs. Using unusual materials like peacock feathers and orchid branches, the Potafiori team transformed the space into a work of art.

"We wanted to combine the strength of nature with a modern, unexpected touch," Potafiori's Creative Director and Founder, Rosalba Piccinni explains. "Peacock feathers, orchid branches, dried essences, compact mosses, and Italian aromas blend into a harmonious play of material, scent, and lightness."
